Use a masonary drill stick tape over the tile to stop the drill slipping and pepper it with holes, then you can break it out in small bits.
Edit Wear eye protection !

We did similar to toolbox, except we raked out the grout first (grout rake, ours was from Wickes) then we drilled and used a chisel.
As per toolbox, eye protection is a must!

I have done this a several times now but in my view its a must to rake the grout out first, as loose adjacent tiles can start to chip and lift.
I never bother drilling holes, just use a bolster chisel and tap away. Had no problems so far
The BOSCH 180E with the RIFF Tungsten Carbide Sawblade attachment is great for removing the grout but wouldn’t buy one especially for the job. Unless you want to treat yourself

Yes I missed the bit about cleaning out grout
Also keeps the mess down if you hold a rag over the tile as you prise the bits out.

meant to say batty,
have you grouted yet? I thought my tiling was rough but grouting made a big difference. But like you, I know exactly where I messed up a few up and I notice it every time. No-one else does though!

Ain't that the worst thing about DIY, you always see the errors, nobody else does but, it don't make you feel any better about it.
