Warped WBP Ply for bath panel

Hi all,

I recently bought a sheet of WBP ply, in hope to tile my bath panel. But when I brought it home I realised its slightly wrapped/concaved!

It's my understanding the this Marine ply shouldn't warp at all, and hence why it's good to use for bath panels...

Annoying I got B&Q to cut it before I bought it so not sure if I can return it...

But am I right, this stuff shouldn't warp?

Some of the materials b&q sell are of shocking standard, the way they stack materials is poor as well. Any sheet material will warp if it's stored incorrectly. Go to a local timber merchants for materials in future, better quality and cheaper :thumbright:

WBP ply is not the same as Marine ply

Make up a 2x2 frame and screw the ply to it. I tend to use cement board for bath panels these days

Marine ply will cost you at least double what WBP would; probably treble the price of the warped stuff.

I don't think WBP is guaranteed not to warp, but if it's fixed to a good framework it should remain stable.

Marine ply has no joins in the outer layers, and no voids in the others.

The BandPoo stuff is also probably cheap Chinese shite. It also has delamination problems.

You get what you pay for!

Thanks for all the replies and advice.

The chump in B&Q said WBP was marine ply.... Going to see if I can take it back and get a refund!

The chumps in bq are useless,i know someone who works in a store who is the resident 'expert' giving demos on tools etc. he was on the dole for yonks and one of the reasons he was given the job was because he had laid a few laminate floors....i kid you not.
