Whats stopping me getting PL Insurance?!

Marning everyone.
My cleaning and maintenance business launches on 1st March. 90% cleaning for estate agents and such like, 10% simple maintenance tasks whilst I'm at the property.
I'm 22, 5 or so years working in the cleaning industry, but the first time for myself.
Usual stuff, £1M cover, £1000 tool cover, not much else.
Seems MoneySuperMarket can't give me only quotes, neither can Simply Business. Haven't spoken to anyone on the phone yet.
Any glaringly obvious reasons for me being auto-denied a quote?
Im in Leicestershire BTW.
Thanks,
Mike!

That's where I get mine, and have done since day 1.

It's usually a doddle getting pl insurance, your best bet is to phone up one of the companies and speak to an adviser. Those go compare thingy websites sometimes don't throw up a quote,my last attempt at getting van insurance quotes ended up similar to you and gave me no results yet I was fine when I called various companies direct.

Probably because you're under 25. Premiums are stupid-money for 18-25 thereafter they become available/affordable.

Can I be cheeky and ask roughly what you guys pay a month/year for PL insurance or what I should expect to pay?
I'm finding it hard to budget if i can't estimate what it'l be!

Depends what occupation you do tbh,I'm sure mines is roughly 80 quid for the year. I know a roofer and his is about 200 quid a year, depends on the risk I suppose.

You lads make me chuckle.
Brilliant, so if I budgeted for £20-£30 per month that would be ample by the sounds of it. Excellent!

There is no reason why you should not be able to get PLI.
In all honest, they will be falling over themselves to provide you with PLI. The only problem will come when you need to make a claim, then they might look for means of avoiding payment.
I pay £150 a year, and am covered for Plumbing and Heating/Gas work, as well as Electrical work that relates to my trade. Have not made any claims in 8 yrs, but will be interesting to find out what will happen if I were to make a claim?
