Drool tools!

Having discovered that I have a fondness for the stubby hammer, I wondered what you all drool over, diy tool wise!
I like sanders but there's a limit to what needs sanding, I like the look of the palm sanders, never used one and don't know whether it's any better than my trusty detail sander.

Without being flash I have several sanders including a B&D Industrial Palm Sander (now known as DeWalt). They are all useful in certain areas. I recently bought a cordless one from Axminster (CDS90)on a half price offer which I find is great for small jobs.
Sorry can't post the linl as I don't know how to

I've got a Bosch orbital sander which I hate using and a detail sander but I think I'll get a palm sander too. When the weather's drier I'm going to start sanding my windows. I like Bosch tools never had much go wrong with them.

I have a Bosch detail sander, but find that the
Bosch PMF 180 E is much more effective for sanding. This machine is excellent for sanding as well as for cutting

UHM,
You lucky thing! That's another one that I could use. Looking at it the PMF180E it looks like my Bosch detail sander, the sanding bit is exactly the same. Valentine's Day/ wedding anniversary is coming up, I may drop hints!

Talking sanders, for many years I only had the typical 1/3 sheet sanders, but in December I bought a Ryobi One+ Orbital sander and I have found it really good
- much nicer to use then the 1/3 sanders

I recently got a Fein Multimaster to add to my collection, lol. I have to say I love it. It's not too heavy to use, it's accurate and I've used it for everything from cutting out plasterboard for back boxes, to cutting old flooring flush with the wall so it can all be removed.
It's got a sanding kit with it too that looks quite good, but I'm nowhere near the end stages where it might come in useful, yet.
Btw, I have no idea what I would do with a stubby hammer........but I can see the attraction and might just make space in the shed for one.

Hi Ali - not sure if you have read UHMs review on the Bosch PMF 180E, but it is a tool very similar to the Fein MM and more relevant to you - the blades/tools are interchangeable, so when you come to look for replacement blades, look at those as well - may be better value?

Thanks Hoovie. I read the Bosch thing AFTER I'd got the Fein otherwise I would have got the Bosch I suspect, purely on price.
I'd got some Fein blades from eBay which were very reasonable but I'll look at Bosch blades when replacing again.

Iagree with Woody, made one once using an old motor.
My current dream tool would be a sharpening system.
