Smoke stained grout

Evening folks, just popped in from the decorating forum.

Currently doing an insurance job where the kitchen has had a fire and everything has had to be washed down and stain blocked prior to redecoration.

Problem is with the white tiles and grout. Tiles have washed clean but the grout is still very grey/black.

Short of grinding out and re-grouting, is there anything that will get this grout looking white again?

Thanks in advance

Evening Fitzy

Nice to see you outside of the P & D forum... :huray:

Have a look at this thread

cleaning-grout-t16799.html

Can't say I've used it on fire/smoke damaged grout, maybe for the sake of 15minutes as compared to raking out and replacing the old grout maybe worth a try ??

I've also used bleach and and an old toothbrush to whiten discoloured grout..

I really can't see why it wouldn't work for smoke discolouration/damage...
