aaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh
Got some bits on gumtree, I can understand that not everyone wants a fluted-thingy-wotsit-with-reverse-thrust, so I will just have to wait for the person who does want that, but in the mean time something else I have listed (for a tiny amount of money) has caused no less than 6 people to ask can they buy it, so we agree a when and where I am, and............they never turn up. (Unlike one ad, under an hour of it being posted, he was driving down the road with the item in question paid for)

If I put stuff on Gumtree, it usually sells within 24 hours!

I have a beef with people selling on eBay that state 'will not post to Scottish Highlands' - why the eff not? It's the same packaging, it's the same trip to the post office and the BUYER is paying the (inevitable) extra charge
Why would people discount a significant percentage of potential purchasers this way?
Unless it is "because I is Scottish......" (discrimination)? which I find very hard to believe.

Not if the current public opinion polls are correct.....
Funny how I can send stuff SOUTH for £6.95 but it costs £20+ to come north......
but, like I said, if I'm prepared to PAY for it, why are the sellers still reluctant to POST it?

Only a guess.
Item for sale £3 postage
It could be argued that as they have said £3 postage then the postage is £3 where ever it is going.
OR
I am selling a parcel that is 30 x 30 x 30 cm it weighs 2kg. I find out it will cost £14 to send it, when the courier company find out its going to yourtown they want more money for a longer distance, I know this because I have been "caught" before, so to avoid it happening again, I refuse to send it to yourtown.

If it helps, it has happened to me but the other way round. I got some things from an ebay person in the USA, I got the things, all well and good, I later went back to get more, the UK is now on the "we won't post it to" list.
