Adding a tiling edge after tiling

Good afternoon,

I hope someone can suggest something to help. I recently bought a place which has a bathroom with relatively new tiles. However, I think they may have cut some corners with it. They have tiled around the shower fittings to make a sort of little 'box'. Between the slightly sloping top ledge and the vertical wall around the shower fittings, the tiles are pulling apart by about half a centimeter. As this is a horizontal gap, water is not pouring in but it needs to be fixed. They haven't used a tile edge, annoyingly. I think it is fairly difficult to add a plastic tile edge after the job is done. Or I could fill it in with some sealant. What do you think best? My preference is to finish the job with a nice white edging or as a last resort to re-do the sloping ledge again and finish it properly.

Any ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks

Should be do-able. First get yourself a grout rake

Rake out the tile addy carefully to the required depth, apply a bead of silicon to the trim push it in (Try it dry first to make sure you've got the necessary depth)

Have a small bowl of warm water ready with a splash of fairy in it. Dip your finger in that to remove/tool the silicon.

Also have some old rag or kitchen roll on hand to clean up your fingers...you'll prolly need a gun for the silicon...

do you have any spare tiles??
my thoughts would be to reduce the strip depth by half to reduce the chance off breakage but still leave enough to hold firmly

Caulk it and a fat bead of silicone
