Blu-ray

Post by Have Brush Will Travel »

Maybe not 'computers' (sorry) as such..but if anyone can help I'd be grateful

I have just got a player that has smart capabilities .i.e able to view the internet via the tv...but inputting url's using the remote is a laborious process...would a wifi keyboard with an adapter do the job?

Cheers

Depends on the player.

Some allow you to use a USB keyboard, wireless one, etc.

Depends on the model really - what you got?

I'd be more inclined to say "they have authorised a specific model of keyboard to work with your player for an optimal experience". What that means really is "We've found the most expensive bit of tat possible that pays far more than the royalty for the player we got".

A lot of USB ports on smart does is very specific in function.

No mention of it anywhere in the guides.

I'd try a USB keyboard if you have one laying around or on your PC - if it works, chances are an IR keyboard with USB receiver will be fine. Depends if it's a full/enabled USB port or one simply for media retrieval.

They are scared you might steal their souls if you can do too much.
