more Oak, progress so far

Post by mailee »

After building the cutlery insert I have been busy building the 'computer' desk. This is to match some furniture already in the room. It is intended for a laptop but with a slide out tray for a keyboard and the insides for storage. there will be four adjustable shelves each side and the drawers for smaller items. I now have a finish to put on it and make four knobs. I am in the process of shooting in the doors at the moment. Finish will be a clear wax.

Well at last it is finished. (I hate waxing) I have spent the last couple of days making the knobs and putting the finish on it. I realised how rusty I was at turning as it has been so long since I had done any. Here it is all complete.

I had some green baize left over from the cutlery tray so used this for the bottom of the drawers.
