Hello all, I used to upload a number of interesting internet photo's to the Photobucket hosting site that I could then pick up & paste onto emails etc. when the occasion arose. I probably had approx a dozen or so. For some reason they've changed the way I could pick up a photo from the site & paste, now it doesn't work. An email to them resulted in this reply.

'The copy option hasn't changed, but the way you are placing the image in the email may be different, depending on the email client you are using. Some require the use of the HTML embed code, which you will need to use (and possible enable for your email client), to embed the photo.
I would suggest searching Google for the steps to embed an image in your email client'

Which I'm afraid is gobbledegook to me. So, does anyone use such a photo hosting site that is as easy as PB used to be? Or explain the above.

On Photobucket, click the photo you want to use then click on the box to the right that has 'IMG' beside it. It will say 'copied'.

Go to your website/whatever and right-click/paste the link and the image should show up - although some websites don't have the facility.

Note that, for THIS forum you need only use Windows explorer to search your own PC for the image and place it straight into the thread. Click the button at the bottom of the thread post to get the 'full editor' where you'll find the facility to upload photos here.

Tried your route, but I get the url link when pasted onto an email I am sending. Sending that email to myself as a test, shows the now highlighted link which, when clicked on, does show the image, but also all the images in my Photobucket gallery.

You need to either edit the privacy settings on your photobucket account - or, set up a new album and put photos you want to send in their own album.

Been trying that & variations, but still only loads up the link. The format isn't the same as I used to use, despite what the reply said from PB

My response was geared towards the problem of your whole album being viewable through a link to one photo.

To sort out the problem of attachment to your emails I think you need to go back to the response from photobucket, particularly:-

Which email programme are you using? I use Thunderbird and can embed an actual image into the email using the *direct* link from photobucket - (I just tried it a minute ago).

The format for using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) - which is a language that makes up a large part of the functioning of the internet - in this instance is with the use of the 'img' tag. You could try typing something like <img src="http://www.The full link that shows up in your browser when you click on your picture would go here"> in an email and send it to another email account of yours (remember you need everything I've just written within the < and >). All html tags start with < and close with >. Just for your reference. Have a play around with it.

To be honest, just knowing a little html - if you're an internet user - is a very helpful bit of knowledge. At a basic level, it's actually pretty easy but to some can look complicated. It really isn't..

To a PC nerd like me. oh! yes it is.

Still can't get my head round what has changed with PB. All the help pages tell you everything, except having uploaded a photo, how to then download it onto an email that I want to send. It used to be sooooooo simples!! If I could, I'd download all the photo's/pictures I've put in PB & place them in my photo folder, that way It'd be straight forward to then pick up what I wanted & place it on the emails,
& forget PB.
