Replacing Kitchen unit doors / drawer fronts / kickboards
Im looking to change the unit doors in the kitchen as i cant afford to replace the entire kitchen, Im not too sure who the manufacturer of the kitchen is either, is there a way of telling / locations that are accessible where a maker would leave their mark ?? ( I only bought the house 2 years ago.)
I have no idea if the doors are "standard size" or if there is such a thing ??
can anyone recommend any websites or stores that are reasonably priced ?
The door sizes i have are
Doors
3x 496 mm (w) x 555 mm (h) - floor standing
2x 496 mm (w) x 715 mm (h) - Wall hung
2x 596 mm (w) x 555 mm (h) - floor standing
Drawers
3x 496 mm (w) x 156 mm (h)
2x 596 mm (w) x 156 mm (h)
1x 596 mm (w) x 117 mm (h) – Cooker bottom drawer
Im also presuming that the holes for the hinges will be in the same place, on mine they look to be 115mm from top / bottom of the door to centre of the cut out for the hinges.
Many Thanks
Scott

Sometimes the maker has a plate on the hinges - but I think you'll find they are pretty standard in terms of sizes which is why replacing just the fascias and not the cabinets is as popular as it is.
I can't say where the best place to go for the doors is although I will take an interest in the answers you get as it is something I may consider doing it myself down the line.

Hmmmmm you've got some odd sizes there
The width of the doors are all standard but the height is not
Height wise the 715mmm is standard
The 555mm is not, it's normally 570mm
Drawers - the 156mm is not standard, normally 140mm or 175m
Also the 117mm is not standard, it's normall 115mm
All that said if your cabinets are 720mm high then is is possible to reconfigure the doors so they match standard sizes

Colour Republic when measuring the unit size where are the memeasurements to be taken from? Lookin in one of the carcases i can see what looks like mounting hole for hinges above the current placement of the hinge.

I wouldn't bank on it - mine are @ 85mm - top/bottom edge of door to centre of hole - (from a major national supplier).Scotty001 wrote:

The standard measurements for hinges are 100mm from top and bottom, however this measurement is far less 'standard' than door sizes so can differ. But in any case most kitchen replacement door retailers supply doors undrilled so you can get yours to match.
