What's everyone's favourite Christmas tunes? There hasn't been many good uns for 20 years in my opinion. Here's my top 5 for anyone remotely interested!

Slade--here it is merry Christmas
Band aid--do they know it's christmas (original one)
Chris rea--driving home for Christmas
Joana Lewis -- stop the cavalry
Shakin Stevens -- merry Christmas everyone.

Gaudete is one of mine, but "Holly and the Ivy" (especially the more trad. arrangement that Steeleye Span did), "Jack in the Green" (Jethro Tull) and also John Lennon's "So This is Christmas"

Someone please help me find that song - its doing my head in!
Its on Radio 2 all the time, starts with a military snare drum in the background, has a female solo in the chorus and a bloke singing the verses that sounds a bit like Richard Burton, and its about the truce in WW1 when they played football at Christmas, 30 mins googling came up with nothing....

I can listen to it anytime of the year...however the whole christmas song thing brings out the cynic in me ..'nice little earner ' me thinks.

..however, again ,Greg Lake's is o.k. and Bowie and Crosby are ace,freakin' brilliant singing !
