Hi, I am fixing 12mm ply to floorboards, will be using turbogolds 30mm but what size shoud I use ? Thanks Steve.

I would use a 45 or 50mm but check as much as poss that you wont hit any services etc.

As a rule of thumb I always you a screw at least twice the thickness of material I'm fixing.

30mm are ample, just dont sink them to much, cable and pipe runs :shock:

definatly no more than 30 12x20 or 22 is only 2 or 4mm to spare before penetrating through the floor

Do you actually mean that you are using a 30mm length screw but need to know the width of screw?

8 guage, or whatever system of sizing thats used these days!

Trust a woman to think of width not length!! :wink: I couldn't understand why you'd given the length and still needed to know the length, and I'm not the expert. :lol:

Glad that was sorted out was that an equivalent to a number 8 screw then? :thumbright:

That's what would be handy on here, a table of equivalent screw sizes, it'd make choosing easier.
