rutlands miter saw

with rutlands 30-50% off is not unusual but this is a bit more
i have bought loads from them but no power tools
i suspect it will be a reasonable diy tool at good value but not up to trade

Arrived this afternoon. First impressions, not bad actually.
No play in the slide rails and they are nice smooth, head spring is a bit stiff but no play I can see there either. Angle markings are a bit rough but then I rarely use those anyway so that's fine. Clamp is a bit crap but does the job, same for the support arms.
Motor has a hell of a kick when it starts up and it is noisy but no worse than my chop saw. Trenching stop is a little fiddly, I may change that a bit in the future if it causes any issues. Guard is a bit cheap, it works alright but does rattle etc.
Test cut out of the box was surprisingly square! Need to buy a smaller engineers square to set it up properly so that will have to wait. Dust extraction is useless so this will be an outside saw only.
All in all quite pleased with it so far, time will tell how it is in actual use and if it will hold square etc but for under £90 delivered I am very happy and it's certainly a big step up from I was using size wise which will make a few DIY jobs this year a LOT easier.
