Texting!!!
Grumpy 43 year old woman moment!! Am I the only one who can't stand texting. HATE IT with a passion!! What's wrong with leaving a short spoken message?

I hate it when they will not ( or do not know how to) use punctuation and spell correctly.
I know it saves time but those of us even older than your beautiful young self can remember when we got marked down for poor spelling and punctuation in examinations, even those which were not english.
Woodwork, History, Geography etc.

I could also include my biggest "moan topic" when the the words "number" and "amount" are used in the wrong way! How many times are people measured by "amount"? It should be "number" of people!! It is cringe worthy when even the news readers get it wrong.
The wrong use of "fewer" and "less" is another one that gets me going! There should be "sound emoticons", growling/ grumbling would be a good one.

I've not read that book yet, I must look in the library. I know I used to be a penpal to a sailor decades ago but I've no idea what you mean by "sailor talk". Captain Pugwash springs to mind though!EJJ150847 wrote:Blu, we could start our own forum, based on Lynne Trusse's, "Eats shoots and leaves"
Or I could turn that into sailor talk!!

Sounds like the "Carry on" films were true then.
I don't know that much about the navy.
My daughter is learning to play " I am sailing" on her guitar!
Sailor talk

Harrumm, BD clears throat
I use Text talk cause I am soooooo bl00dy slow at texting, I hate it
The time it takes me to text a simple answer, I could have rung the person 3 times
It took me ages to get to grips with it, (no suprise there then)
I would rather want something I dont have, that have something I dont want

I notice that Tesco lables the fast lane "5 Items or less" but Sainsburys "5 items or fewer".Bludall wrote:

Clearly, Sainsburys are trying to appeal to more discerning shoppers such as 43 year old chicks.
