Tiling onto newly plastered wall

When I ripped out the bathroom over the weekend I was removing the old tiles from the bath/shower area and found the plaster was completely blown. Off it all came from one full wall and half of another and I've had a plasterer in today to re-plaster, bonding and then skim onto a brick internal wall.
I asked him how long before I could tile onto the new stuff and he was quite vague.
What's the general recommendation? I've had a search online and seen everything from 3 days to 4 weeks - I'm assuming the 3 days is for just an overskim rather than a full depth re-plaster, but it would be good to be able to crack on with the bathroom without waiting longer than necessary.
