Thanks for that, the £40 mixer drill looks good to me. I've been meaning to get another mixer drill and for this sort of money it will do me.
I will give it a review when we ( eventually) move house and have to make good the plaster after all the knocking about we plan to do.

I got one a couple of years ago and it's been superb. Regularly use it for mainly mixing up tile adhesive.

Anybody with experience using that sabre saw? Been toying with the idea of getting one for a while

If I remember when passing I'm going to get a couple of those magnetic strips

Me too... though regulating the speed via the trigger switch can be a bit hit and miss...

I certainly wouldn't use it for mixing/stirring paint........

I've had one for years, but I've never really got on with it. Mine's a Bosch (green) It's OK (but only just) with a wood cutting blade, but the metal cutting and tree lopping blades don't work at all for me. To be honest every time I've used it I've felt as if I'd have been better with a sharp handsaw. :)

So what u say is it's not worth it. I have an old fence to dispose of the plan was to cut the fence in small parts using the sabre saw

It may be me, but I've had a saw of similar type for years and never really got on with it. Used decent Bosch blades in it and I've been unimpressed. Blades stick in thicker material and you end up fighting the machine as it tries to push out of the cut. It's OK in thinner stuff. I have an idea that as with jigsaws then a machine with orbital action may be the answer. I don't think the Parkside machine has that.
As I say I haven't used that particular tool all that much really. Someone else with more experience of the type may be along.

that happens when the wood tightens onto the blade usually because off weight or its wet
if you use a blade with offset teeth it will be far less likely to bind up
if you are cutting something heavy make sure the weight isnt closing the gap up by supporting the timber

if your cutting say a branch cut the top surface as that surface will be opening out with the weight
rather than underneath that will be closing up thats assuming its still on the tree

if you are cutting the same branch say on a bench and the only support is at each end then you would expect the underneath will be opening out ??
well yes it might all depends on the way the tree grows

Thanks mate, but I've done all that, used the right blades for different jobs etc., and I still don't like that type of saw. Maybe I expect too much. Perhaps I'll get some more blades of a different type and try them.

Varies pliers available at Lidl for around 2 quid. I'm always losing pliers so bought a couple of pairs.
Check it out. Oh, and don't forget their bakery products very, very good & great value too!!
