Who's right plumber say to fit bath before tiles tiler says it doesn't matter.

It's still the Plumber ..
The reason being that you can double seal the bath rim to the wall...Ummm I'm sure I've got a cr@p diagram somewhere...
EDIT...no..I deleted the diagram a few days ago..on te basis that I would never use it again...

Bath is normally fitted first,like wine-o says its sealed to the wall at this stage then sealed again after tiling.

So you can have silicon in two places, giving twice as much protection against minor leaks.......

The right way to fit a bath is to put it in before tiling. They are bedded a little into the wall. It stops leaks because over time silicone seal shrinks. I know in some countries around Europe they tile first before putting a bath or shower tray in. Leaks wouldn't really bother them as some countries in Europe don't have wooden floor boards. They use concrete for everything.
