Flooring a Round Rental Space

Hello all,

Although I've lurked for some time, I am new at posting to the forum and am thrilled with the knowledge base here. I am opening my first business soon, and have secured the location. It's a perfectly circular space of 715 square feet. The current floor is grouted stone tile, but I would like to achieve a glossy concrete look that is temporary (for now, I'd like to eventually approach the owner about something permanent once I've established the business).

My question is whether there is a way to achieve this seamless, glossy concrete look with LVT or another type of vinyl tile. I want the covering for aesthetic reasons, but it would also protect the floor underneath from damage (we are opening a hair salon, hair color and chemicals can be messy).

That sums it up. I'm new to this but I learn fast, and I'm eager to get materials ordered and installed since we are opening very soon. Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.

Have you considered (assuming the sub-floor beneath the stone tiles is concrete), having the stone removed and polishing the existing concrete. Alternatively, having a micro topping installed on top of the stone with decorative aggregates (then polished) or having a stain applied. 66 sqm shouldn't be that painful, £££. All options above being a little bit less on the temporary scale..

I can't think of any seamless products. Safety flooring will need a seam (at that size) and LVT will come in a tile format. You could go for a very bland looking stone effect but I'm sure it'll pretty much have the separate tile look.

Thank you, Wes. After grappling with options,, I decided to contact a local pro who suggested a "floating floor" of LVT. I've since adjusted my aesthetic preferences out of necessity, and will be aiming for a look that replicates a grey (aged) wood floor. I'm meeting with him tomorrow and am hopeful that the look is achievable. Thank you again for your response!

With the circumstances, I think that's a good compromise. Getting a professional in was a very wise decision!
