No but twenty years ago I spent my childhood and teenage years hands on, helping out in the family business. I've got an allotment and garden and am not scared of getting my hands dirty. I turfed our lawn! It's easy as long as you get the soil layer sorted out first, free from stones, good drainage and level, preparation is everything as they say! :thumbright: I was trying to find you a video because either Monty Don or Alan Titchmarsh used to have one online but i've not come across it yet.

Good luck. :thumbright:

I'd wait until the risk of frost is over, not sure if anyone else would :thumbright: .

:thumbright: As I said before, the better the prep, the better the lawn will be, you don't want the problem of filling low lying spots on lumpy lawns as they'll not mow evenly when they get established.

The type of turf you buy depends on what the garden will be used for, will it be used by children for football etc. if so just get cheap meadow turf, if it's to be purely an ornamental lawn then get the best you can afford. :thumbright:
