Fencing blown over

I put up 6ft fencing in my back garden last week. Looked out this morning and noticed that the fence was leaning over. Upon further inspection the Post crete has came loose around the soil resulting in 3 posts leaning over :cussing: It was extremely windy with gusts up tp 50 mph.

I dug a spade and a half deep for each post and filled them with one and a half bags of post fix. The area around each post was the same as the depth.

I hope you can answer a couple of questions.

Is the post fix enough for each hole.?

Can I repair it without taken the fence apart?

What do other people use for their posts? I have built numerous fences but never had this problem.

What have i done wrong. Or is it just the fact that the winds were so strong?

Any help Guys. Cheers

Is the fence solid or does it have gaps to let surplus wind blow through? I had the larchlap type but found it was like a sail, and it actually broke the posts off at ground level. I replaced it with an overlapping-plank fence (both sides of posts) Still fine after 18 years.

It has a 1 inch gap between slats.

I think the only wat to resolve the problem is to take them out and start all over again.

You will probably have to go a bit deeper with the post holes Weegie.

Hi Weegie,

as WM has said i would have gone deeper with the holes usually about 300 -450mm deep depending on soil condition.

Thanks for the replies guys. I had an idea that it wasn't deep enough.

Guess what I'm doing over the weekend ::b ::b
