Monthly competitions
The monthly forum competitions are going to be put on hold for the foreseeable future.
The competitions have run every month for almost ten years, however due to several factors it is no longer possible to run the monthly competitions. The monthly competitions may return in the future and there will of course be special competitions from time to time.
The whole point of the competition was to give something back to the forum members; hopefully it served its purpose over the years.
Thanks to everyone that took part in the competitions and please watch this space for special competitions

Re: Monthly competitions
As a previous winner all I can say is a great big THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to enter!
I used the battery drill I won to rebuild my house and have (just) bought an identical second drill to repair the original one such is my 'attachment' to it.
Thanks must also go to the generous suppliers who have donated prizes too.
Well done everyone.

Re: Monthly competitions
I can only echo what's been said by kellys-eye. I've won some cracking prizes in my short time with the forum and was lucky enough to grab first prize last month! It won't in any way stop me visiting and contributing to the forum by not having the monthly competitions.

Re: Monthly competitions
I'll still be here with my sparkling wit (OK, it's just rampant sarcasm - which I usually keep well reined in) and I'd also like to echo my thanks for the chance to win some of these excellent prizes which I've been fortunate enough to do on a few occasions, it was never the reason for being here, just a welcome by-product - thanks Chez, (my 3rd prize Stapler from the May comp arrived yesterday).

Well I always entered and never won, story of my life
I didn't join for the competitions though so I won't be leaving, you are still stuck with my silly comments.

Re: Monthly competitions
I have been lucky enough to win a few times, and the mug gets used daily at work. I was honoured to be able to enter but it's not the reason why I'm here.
I have learnt so much an hopefully been able to share some of my knowledge with others

Re: Monthly competitions
I'm a new boy, and I've been lucky enough to win a prize for the last two months. The socket set arrived the other day. Thanks Chez.
Like the others, the competition wasn't my reason for being here, so you'll have to continue to put up with me. :)

Re: Monthly competitions
Thanks for running the competitions, the site and all the videos!
Very much appreciated!
I was hoping to see you name on the birthday honours list - far more deserving than many on there! But alas, not this year!
Perhaps next year for services to the DIY community!

Re: Monthly competitions
i won prizes a few times. i got a screwdriver set of which i still have most of them. a couple are under floors when theyve broke and ive planted them though. a drill but thats dead coz the battery knacked. and the chisel set that turned into a veritas mkii honing guide. absolutely mint piece of kit.
i suppose ill still come along and talk a bunch of nonsence about football and graft and air my mass dissapointment at the latest shennanigans down barrack road.
i bet its some task organising stuff like that though. i organise a football night once a week and its the bane of my life. im currently injured so im not playing and i have to take the balls and bibs along and get everyones money. then go and pick em up an hour later. nobody has offered to take the bibs home and wash em. i get moaned at if the bibs smell bad. moaned at if the balls are too soft. i charge too much. theres money in the bag. nobody considers that i have to pay even if nobody turns up to play. i get some clever blokes. accountants, coppers, teachers aswell as trades blokes and they all go on the same

Re: Monthly competitions
I have been lucky enough to win the top prize a few times and have received great help from the pro's on here.
I only watch from the sidelines as most queries are answered before I get chance to post, I am out of touch with the latest Regs any way.
Keep up the good work Chez, we won't miss the comps.
Good luck for the future.
John

Re: Monthly competitions
Thank you Chez for running the competitions, thanks to the sponsors for providing the prizes, and as the guys have all said, they weren't the reason I was here, so you're all stuck with me.
