Could anyone explain how I can remove Avast security and suggest the best freebie security to replace it with?

I`m not wanting to pay BT approx four quid a month for McAfee either.

What version of windholes are you using ?

I use AVG free version and find it great, though I also have Malware antibytes as a back up incase...

Trying to remember Vista...

I think it was control panel, then all programs,(scroll down to the program) then right click on the program you want to remove.......

Then "Uninstall"

add/remove programs type it in the search box what on the windows menu

or

1.Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.

You can also remove most programmes from CCleaner if you have it installed, (click for "Tools" menu).

Avast have just demonstrated a case of "missing you already",they`ve changed their mind after spending a week counting me down to having no cover without coughing up spondoolies,so when I attempted to uninstall them,they said please keep us for nowt :)

I started to install AVG wine~o,and PC said no....which led me to start uninstalling Avast as AVG instructed.I will give AVG a go if Avast start hassling me with pop-ups every 10 mins.Thanks for that.

Just hope I don`t end up like family in Oz,who had a Russian virus get past Avast and rendered two computers useless last month.....so they say.

Thanks Ayjay,that`s worth knowing,I do have Crap Cleaner and should use it really.

Another vote for AVG iv used it for about 10 years now, never had problems with it.
