(personal) cloud storage

I was thinking of getting my own "cloud" for storage. I already use a "passport" but when the need came.....it did not have what I thought it should have saved on it, but that is another story. So I was thinking of getting a cloud, and then sending stuff to it as and when.
Question, have any of you got your own cloud storage (One that is in your house somewhere, not one of the ones you pay / month for) and if so, what do you think of it, and which one have you got?

Thanks.

I've got one - I like to call it the Thank Bank

Sorry couldn't resist

Billy Goat has a similar one, well it rhymes but with what he stores in there th first word is very different

So you're talking about a physical home server style solution as opposed to dropbox etc?

The Goat will show you the way when he logs in!

What was the deal with not thanking people again?? The old laptop had a bug or something that wouldn't allow it. Then you bought a new one that you never use so still can't thank people??
Or are all the thanks lost in some sort of cloud storage!!

What are you wanting to do?

Are you wanting automatic backup or just somewhere off PC that you want to put stuff? Do you want to get it from multiple devices or just one?

Do you want to access it away from home too?

And weirdly, who is your ISP and what router do you use?

Any kind of budget?

"automatic" would be nice, I have two desktops

No. No need.

BT, not sure what the router is, but it is the standard one you get with BT fibre optic

Less than £200 would be nice. 1TB would be way too big for what "rubbish" we have to keep.
