Coming soon to a Makita dealer near you (10.8 volt)

Makita have been having quite a busy time in recent months with lots of new tools released. Some interesting releases include -
10.8 volt (12 volt in USA) CXT Tool Range
Makita have finally revamped their 10.8 volt Li-Ion tool range (known as 12 volt in the USA....) and the range will hopefully be coming to the UK The range shown above (impact driver, screwdriver, drill, combi drill, circular saw and recipro saw) are supposedly already available through Amazon in the USA. They feature a new design of slide-on battery pack similar in style to that used on the 18 volt LXT tools we've been able to buy for quite a few years. The new tools will feature a more slender grip and the battery technology will allow the introduction of a fan-equipped charger allowing a charge time (according to a Japanese press release) of 22 minutes for the model BL1015 1.5Ah battery (against circa 55 minutes for the current battery design), a major improvement. It should also mean higher-capacity batteries will become available in due course to challenge the Milwaukee M12 offerings (2Ah is already in production, apparently). Above: Makita TD110D Impact Driver
Below: Makita DF031D Screwdriver (rear) and DF331D Drill/Driver (front) Above: Makita HP331D Hammer Drill
Below: Makita HS301D Circular Saw (front) Above: Makita JR104D Reciprocating Saw
These model numbers may end up having a "C" prefix in Europe. This is yet to be confirmed
The impact driver will have a speed range of 200~2600rpm and an impact strength of 110Nm for a weight of 1kg (including battery).
The drill/driver and screwdriver will weigh-in at 1.1kg (including battery) and have two speed ranges of 0~450 and 0~1700rpm. The chuck will be 10mm capacity. the hammer drill will be very similar, but about 100 grams heavier
The circular saw features an 85mm diameter blade with a maximum cut depth of 25mm. It weighs 1.5kg (incl. battery)
The recipro saw weighs in at around 1.3kg, has a 13mm stroke length and runs at 0~330spm
