ADVICE PLEASE: floor levelling with large drop & heating mat

I have a kitchen/diner approx. 5m x 4m with a concrete floor. I want to tile whole floor area over an under floor heating matt.

Only issue is the existing concrete floor has a slope and when you put long level it has a 5.5 cm drop on it from one end to the other. Would you recommend laying heating matt 1st and then pouring floor level compound over it, then tiling once set? Or would you do another way?

Any advice appreciated.

You should level the floor out first, then install the mat, then install the tiles. Obviously following manufacturers guidelines regards the mat and tiles..

If you do it the other way round, you'll have an inconsistent temperature as some of the wires will be buried deeper.

Hope that helps Wigwam :thumbright:
