What is it about bacon?
I was cooking dinner last night and there was an aroma wafting in through the kitchen window of someone nearby frying bacon.
I very nearly abandoned my Trout, (fried in garlic butter with almonds) for a bacon sarnie.
I did have one for brekkie this morning though!

Bacon's one of the main food groups for blokes isn't it?
I'd agree. Bacon frying is the best smell ever!

Yup lovely smell, together with roasting coffee and is it just me, but as soon as someone mentions cheese on toast I rush to the bread bin!

I had a stall at a craft sale just over a year ago in a village hall nearby.
There was also tea, coffee and simple grub on sale, someone had a bacon sarnie.
The stall behind mine was run by a woman, she was probably mid/late 40s, " I wish they wouldn't do that" she said, " I'm a vegetarian, but I could murder one of those"

We were just talking about bacon butties today at work and that it had been ages since anyone offered us any. Needless to say the lady who's house we were working in didn't take the hint!!
Love bacon on a well fired roll with loads of Lurpak and hp brown sauce!!!

Not tried Branston since I was a child. I make my own pickles and chutneys now.

I can see where you are coming from there...... but why ruin a good bacon butty with an egg ??

If it's a full Scottish/English then it's tomato ketchup but if it's just bacon I prefer broon sauce!!

Some sort of chunky pickle (or chutney for that matter) makes it a bit different for a change.
I can see what you mean about the egg, but a decent egg adds a bit extra "oomph" to a bacon sarnie to my way of thinking.
'Course you could always have another bacon sarnie!

Neither for me, freshly ground black pepper, and lots of butter on the toast. Two or three streaky rashers crisped up and two back rashers cooked normal. I put both bits of bread in the same slot of the toaster and toast it one side only, (sarnie is made toast side inwards).
Sometimes I'll have mushrooms in there, sometimes a fried egg. Grilled cheddar is also good, and sometimes I'll have a sliced tomato (also grilled) and a dash of Worcester sauce on that.
I don't have either brown or tomato sauce in the cupboard.

theres a butchers near me that does sarnies on a dinner time. theres often queue's oot the door.
they make all their own sausages there and win awards and the like. if im working near by i often call by for a bacon and sausage stottie. 4 sausages and 4 rashers of bacon hoyed in a stottie. propper mint. alternate between red and broon sarce too.
