Tiling around a floor drain

Hey guys,

Last tiling project went well thanks to the input i recieved from here...

So here's project two.

About to tile my laundry and toilet, i plan to be using 300x300 tiles, but both rooms have floor drains installed and as such a fall/slope. The fall is approx 20mm across the width of the floor (about a meter).

Where I am it isn't a building requirement to have a floor drain in laundries etc as it's a single story building, and not classed as a wet area. I assume it was installed incase something floods, i do have a dedicated drain for my washing machine so this risk is reduced.

Now to the question.

How difficult am I likely going to find it to tile across that slope with the size tile I have? Otherwise I have purchased some self leveling compound and I can level the floor out and leave the drain for a major spill on a level floor.

This is only my second tiling project, my first being a splashback so I'm pretty new at this.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My neighbour had a washing machine inlet hose burst, they lost all their wood flooring + other damage (luckily insurance paid out) but the inconvenience was massive, I am betting they would have been saved much of this with a floor drain, so what I am saying is consider very carefully if you intend to block off yours!

Sorry, I have no idea how to upload from my phone but I'm working on it.
The intention would not be to remove the floor drain all together, rather to level the floor (so the drain would be inefficient).
I'm just dry laying tiles as we speak to try see how to get around it

Self-level the floor then and do it flat. Or If the floor has got to much floor just tile it and use a bit extra adhesive to level the tiles

I think I've uploaded a photo now? (Well at least I hope it works)

I've worked out by cutting the diagonal in the tiles two tiles out (see the top right hand corner), I can eliminate lipage on my dry run, so in theory it should work. I kinda like that pattern too, with the cross going through the room.

A couple of tiles will stick up at the outer edge, but one is covered by the laundry tub and the other is against a wall.

Is there anything I'm missing? This has been a long day of cutting and problem solving.

I like it, but I think my better half isn't happy about that top right hand tile (being cut), or the idea that a few more have to be cut like that. I'll do a few more and post another pic.
Any suggestions in the mean time

Does the top right one need cutting?

It looks like it. I've done the toilet next door so I'll see how they sit now. The top edge was sitting pretty high earlier
