I don't rate Aldi's Workzone very highly. I find Lidl's Parkside brand far superior.

I bought one of Aldi's 3.6v cordless screwdrivers which lasted less than a year. I also bought one of their screwdrivers with detachable bits, the ratchet fell apart in less than 3 months.

I would have to agree there, I have had many parkside and workzone tools, the parkside are all still going strong, the workzone have mostly given up, I got a fair bit of use from them but nothing like the parkside. I had some cordless tools from Aldi a good few years back now, they were an absolute waste of space.
2 exceptions to this being the workzone multitool and the SDS, they are both still going great guns.

I fancy the Gorilla glue and the paintbrushes look OK for throwaway ones.

I have the parkside 3.6v one too and it has been very good. If you keep the receipt then they should provide a full refund if the fault develops within warranty period

10 quids on a 105 piece bit set? We were in need of a few of those anyway, hope it's a good deal

From Aldi, I picked up a pair of work socks. 2 pair for £2.99 a week or so ago. Reinforced heels and toes for wearing with safety footwear.

Even around the house, (I can't be arsed with wearing slippers) they are ultra warm. I've since been back and purchased another couple of packs. (same colour). So that when I next put a toenail through the material, I can pair it up with another.

I've never worked out why but, whatever socks I wear, with safety footwear, the big toe does a Colditz! It burrows an escape route.

Back in the Summer, I got about 6 pair in Britanny from a chain store called Noz. They are basically a Catalogue returns and End of Run outlet. They have lasted quite well but many of those are now reaching the 'end of life' stage.

Do you remember the indestructible socks which were made for steel toe cap boots. Most people wore them with normal footwear I think they have nylon in them not much cushioning if I recollect

Still sell them on ebay and on my market might get a pair
