Fence post next to wall

Post by nincompoop »

Hello

I have a garden fence which doesn't span the entire length of my garden. My neighbours shed covers the gap but they are moving soon and the shed may get removed by the new occupants so i want to move this fence along

Currently i have wooden posts which i want to replace with concrete ones. Question is:

By the wall where i want the first post the ground is concrete. What is proper procedure here? Should i dig and bury the post as i will with all the others or just buy a shorter one and bolt it to the wall? Or maybe both?

Would it be ok to dig so close to the wall? Would be filled in with postcrete afterward anyway.

Any suggestions appreciated

Thanks

personally, without a photo I could be fully sure, but in my humble opinion, the more solid the better. New occupants might come with a big dog, that needs a solid fence.

If you are screwing a fence post to a wall put a couple of washers between the post and the wall..
