I noticed on here a few weeks ago that Lidl were offering an Air Compressor but, I missed out on that one.
Went to Aldi last night (Friday) and, they have an Air Compressor for £49.99
Yet to try it out but, as I have a couple of tyres where I need to change leaking valves, and my foot pump is knackered and another would cost £15, and......local petrol station is 50p min for the tyre inflator.
It will pay for itself in less than 2 years.

That's one of my major gripes(I bore the other half to death with it),50p just for air, that's daylight robbery and basically exploiting anyone who has a flat tyre. I think that air should be FREE, like water or paper towels. Ok, it takes a bit to run the compressor, but you can bet that's tax deductible.

Nothing is free. Everything in a commercial world has to be paid for some how.
Look at it from the other side, would you want to pay for a compressor, get it serviced and certificated annually and get nothing from it?

You're lucky to even get free water nowadays. A few years ago there was an outside tap at the Petrol Station at Frankley southbound. It was forever leaking, being unprotected during the Winter.
I 'don't buy' bottled water, preferring to fill up a bottle from a tap.
Then, the tap disappeared! Nothing, zilch. Presumably, if a customer wanted water to top up a radiator/washer bottle, then they expected them to buy bottled.

I read somewhere on another site that somebody had owned one of those Aldi compressors for years. It was used a lot for all sorts and had kept going.
I've had a little Axminster unit for many years and that too has been great. Bit of use with air tools, blow gun, and of course inflating tyres.
I won't pay for "normal" compressed air, no matter how reasonable it might be. Those 50p machines don't just pay their way, they're a business in themselves.
They took the "service" out of service station long ago.
Giving away a bit of air or a drop of water wouldn't hurt them. Most of 'em make their money on selling other stuff anyway, the fuel is just to pull punters in.

I bought one, it's great. But I'll use it a lot on all sorts; tyres, pressure testing pipes, expansion vessels ect etc. It's very robust & with it being 240vac very handy.
Hose, cable, bits & bobs all store in the wee pockets so I highly recommend it.
PS...They can be bought from Aldi on-line.......
