IKEA integrated dishwasher door problem

Maybe not as the title suggests.

I have a problem, which I can only assume has developed since having the kitchen fitted back in March this year

The problem is with the adjacent kitchen units and not the actual dishwasher door.

The gap for the dishwasher is 600mm at the top of the adjacent cupboards. However , for some reason, at the very bottom the gap is 595mm.

This causes the door to catch on the adjacent cupboards when the dishwasher is opened. Didnt really notice the problem until the dishwasher door detached itself from the dishwasher.

A keen eye can see the the both cupboards kick in right at the bottom. They dont look swollen.

Why would this happen? is it a kitchen defect? Was the kitchen fitted incorrectly?

The brackets you see on the pic were fitted in an attempt to solve the problem, they are supplied by ikea. They are called BEHJÄLPLIG.

These were not fitted when the problem originally occured, and they didnt solve the problem. They just made it easier for me to see what the actual problem was.

What i want advice on most of all is a fix. I tried a 600mm wedge at the bottom of the gap at the bottom between the adjacent cupboards, but this gets in the way of the operation of the dishwasher door.

Any help appreciated

595 at the bottom is the issue.. some-one (Fitter I presume) has not taken account of the floor being a tiny bit out of level.. the only sensible answer (SFAIA) is to remove the cabinets either side of the dishwasher.

It's possible the units either side are out of square a touch also. With them being flat pack it's essential the units are squared when building them up.
The base units are also hung on a bracket and it's a right pain to adjust the legs up or down, pull the plinth off and try lowering the front legs nearest the d/w and see if it moves the unit away, you only need 2.5mm either way.
By the way I haaaaaate installing ikea kitchens, nothing but problems with them and the crazy system and void less back they have.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I put a laser level on both adjacent cupboards. the cupboard to the right is far worse. and the problem follows right up the line of units to the first cupboard. (three units up the line).

Think this could be a job for a (different) kitchen fitter.

Or maybe I'll have a go myself. :dunno:
