Split ring

Post by Cantseeitfrommyhouse »

Painful.

In the process of decomissioning a woodburner and power station sized flue smashed through the wall today, only to find the lovely toerags who installed it had just chopped the ring main in half and left live unterminated cables loose in the board cavity for some other poor b*stard to not be able to find when it doesn't pass the electrical testing! NICE!! :jerk:

Nought worse than a split ring.....

That is unforgivable, and whoever was responsible for it should be prosecuted.

You wonder how these cuunts can sleep at night doing things like that. The thing is they'll sleep like babies no doubt and it'll not be the first time or the last they've done this either.
Folk that do that will come a cropper one of those times, hopefully killing themselves instead of an innocent customer.
Carpentry,I can explain it to you but I cannot understand it for you.

Are the 2 cables accessible at the top, can't quite tell on pic if they both come down from ceiling.

Yah, they come down from above (right across where the flue was - they just pushed them out the way for that  ).

All fixeded now with a 2G socket reinstated in the original position.

Unfortunately there's no way of proving beyond reasonable doubt whether the installer or the homeowner is responsible. All I can tell you is that the woman who moved out of this property has since hit the national news for burning down her thatched roof cottage in a wood burner related incident. Little does she know how close she came to having her last house go up in smoke.
