Neff induction hob in 20mm quartz ok?

Post by dazlp »

Hi. Looking at buying a Neff T51D53X2 induction hob with a Neff oven B57CR22N0B underneath. The instructions online state minimum worktop depth has to be 30mm. Our plan was to go for a slimline 20mm quartz worktop. it's probably a stupid question but I don't suppose there's anyway around this so that we can stick with the planned hob, oven and 20mm worktop?

I'm pretty sure what the answer will be - but worth asking!!

Cheers

Clearly says min 30mm or more, maybe a clever kitchen fitter could fit a false piece in to give the clearance (piece of trim) but it would also depend on the cabinet carcass!

Do you think this is more to do with clearance from what is underneath than anything else. If it was above a base cabinet as opposed to oven with top cut out then what difference does worktop thickness make?

Perhaps call manufacturers and check minimum clearance below as opposed to worktop thicknesses. Alternatively I have seen before where a length of plinth (wrapped) is ran edge ways along top of units to raise around 20mm.
