Cleaning PVA residue from engineered wood floor?

Hi,
We just had some engineered wood put down and there is some PVA residue that was left behind from the installers fitting the floor.
Is there a safe product that will allow me to remove this residue without damaging the floor? Can I just use a damp cloth and some sort of soap?
Thanks.

I would be inclined to get a big bucket of elbow grease applied liberally by messy installers.

PVA is water soluble but you will have to watch out causing grief with the timber floor. Certainly beware of water down the joint line. Dampen some kitchen roll with hot water and leave it to spot soak. A soft scraper like the edge of a credit card might help. Use your wife's one it has its advantages if it splits.
