People forget how fast you did a job - but they remember how well you did it.

I'm on Virgin Broadband and phone unlimited and soon to be 10gb, for the first time it will be faster than my finger.

At times it slows down on the wireless but not sure if that isn't the web site.

Average bill 40quid

I like BT even though it is not the cheapest.
If I could get cable where I lived, I would :thumbright:

On the telephone front, I ignore all these different options where you can pay a bit more and get free calls etc - not worth it.
have a look at 1899.com and 18185.com - 3p or 4p connection charge per call and no time limits for duration of call - my typical call charge bill is about £3 a month for 3 houses (got a box at mother and mother-in-laws house linked to my account that uses 1899 automatically)

On the overall connectivity side, where abouts do you live, Doomed? if you live in a built-up area, see if you can hang off someone elses unprotected wi-fi setup? that is a very cheap option :thumbright:

If you don't want big speed and you don't download a masive amount, consider using a mobile phone service with broadband add-on.
I bet you have a mobile phone, so if you used that type of service and don't bother with home broadband OR a landline with the rental charges that go with that, there is a good saving to be had :thumbright:
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'm a reseller for Utility Warehouse, among others.

https://www.****.co.uk/entr ... ref=189832

If you look at the broadcall link, under "Save at Home" you can see if your number is on an LLU exchange, so you can get broadband and home phone for £19.99. With that you get free weekend calls. Take your gas and electric with them and all your UK landline calls are free.

Forget 3rd party providers. They all need a BT line and have virtually no engineering support if you have grief. The blame game then starts and BT stick their fingers up at you as you are not a BT broadband customer. Therefore I have found it better to use a company with engineering support - I mean, how many times have you seen a Bulldog broadband van on the road??
Also, avoid Talk Talk at all costs - crap.

I'm with Mr Phone 100% - when you have a problem, it is much better to speak to the Organ Grinder, not the monkey

Bit late - but I agree with Hoovie and Mr Phone

Actually agreeing with Hoovie is a bit strange - perhaps now is the time to get him to pull his head out of his a** and get him to agree Dell are brilliant

I've worked from home via BT ADSL for about two years now and I've only been down once for a total of 4 hours

Don't get fixated by 'good deals' if what you want is 'good service' quite often they are mutually exclusive
Nothing you do is a waste of time - especially if it can be used as a bad example by others...

The only good thing about Dell is ..... is .... is???? ... Dunno, give up! :boxing: :boxing:

BTW - I did a post about the BT ToGo Mobile that is a £5 a month add on to Total Broadband Option 3. Worth having a look at that - very nice phone and £5 for 50 mins + 50 Texts is prob cheapest deal on the market - and you can run VOIP on it :thumbright:

i am with talk talk £18 a month up to 8mb 40 download
free evening and weekend calls to anywhere in britain and most off europe in fact most off the world

i know talk talk have had a bad press but my dad was on this package for over a year without major problems and my aol [same company has been playing up  ]

so i though instead of paying aol £25 bt £10.50 and talk ralk around £6 total £42 i would choose £18 including line rental and free calls to australia canada india and europe incase you all move abroad so i can phone you up at obscenly early times and ask what the weathers like :thumbright:
