Tanaka TCG 27EBS (S) Brush Cutter

Post by Dave54 »

My 22 year old McCulloch brush cutter, has I think finally given in the ghost.
At least I can't get the cursed thing to even give a cough, despite new spark plugs, fuel, carb clean and rebuild with new seals and endless fiddling. I've got a feeling that although there is a spark of sorts it's failing under compression.
TBH I'm ****** off with pulling the bleedin' thing, messing with it and not getting the work done.

So I'm getting a new machine. Immediate thought was Stihl, but talking to one or two folk it seems that some are less impressed with them these days unless you go for the top end professional machines.

So I was wondering about the Tanaka TCG 27EBS (S) which I've heard and read good things about. Any thoughts anyone?

Just as an aside, I'm going to use Aspen fuel next time. I'm sure the death of the McCulloch was down to the wonderful green eco fuel we are landed with these days.
