Hi all, as said above I'm looking for a clear oil for my oak worktops, as there are so many on the market I thought id ask to se what people would recommend as the best barrier and why, preferably one that does not take a exceedingly long time to 'soak in'.

Thanks in advance

Osmo seems to be the product of choice these days.

I just cut and fitted a worktop for a mate, and he was using something called Holzol, cost about £30 a ltr, looked good to me?

Another vote for Osmo oil. Used it for several years, depending on usage etc you may have to re-coat every year.

Thanks for the replies... :salute: :thumbright:

I am happy to keep coating annually, or even every 6months to keep the tops in A1 condition

Osmo gets my vote too. Have used a few different oils over the years and found their top oil to be the best so far. Also used it on my Mums oak worktop and she bakes and cooks a lot, and so far it's wearing well.
