Hello all
I'm new to this forum so please forgive any forum protocols that I've overlooked. I know nothing about welding but I'm looking for a guy that does.
You'll probably think I'm crazy but basically, I've tried all the standard Christmas tree stands at Homebase, B&Q etc, even the heavy duty ones, but each Christmas, my two cats love the sight of the baubles on the tree and jump up to play with them, knocking the tree over in the process. They are about 5KG each.
I've tried tying the upper part of the tree to a window and wall to no avail. Last year, I ended up circling the base of the tree with a row of high backed dining table chairs which kept it upright but wasn't ideal.
This year, I'd ideally like to commission a welded stand along the lines of the picture below (see attachment). I reckon that if the tree can have an upper collar brace with extended arms then it's more likely to hold straight.
Is there anyone on here, who could make this? I am willing to pay and ideally have it delivered to central London. Would be looking to get it in time for my tree this year.
Many thanks
Christmas tree stand

Re: Christmas tree stand
Have you not tried securing the base you have to some timber, and then adding weights to the timber.
So in effect you make the foot print bigger and the weights (sand bags / second hand lifting weights) will make it heavier

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
