Treating interior cladding

Post by Locornwall »

Looking to build a bike shed outside. Can I use interior cladding and paint after treating it? Any advice please. Many thanks.

Can you be more specific about the "interior cladding"?
One day it will all be firewood.

So, some sort of prepared moulding like shiplap or tgv? :dunno:

Spruce is not generally recommended for exterior use, but shiplap is commonly made from softwood, usually Redwood, but it could be derived from one form of Pine (Spruce is a Pine species) or another.

Bear in mind it's not the ideal product for an external application, so treat it thoroughly with a clear timber preserver and keep up the maintenance on the paintwork, and see how it goes. Sadolin Classic is fairly long lasting and effective stuff.
