A couple of you may know i'm in the midst of a loft conversion, for myself. 2 beroom, with a small ensuite.
Pretty decent amount of room in there, but plenty of awkward bits to contend with.
Doing in my 'spare' time, along side my day job.
Builder/chippy helping with certain aspects like fitting the velux windows and giving me a pont in the right direction now and then...
Few pics so far... Trusses everywhere... Girder trusses, Fink trusses.... you name it, theyre in there!
So I ordered a fair bit of timber to get me started....
Full pack of 5.4m 8x2s. Plus a fair few 5x2 new rafters...
Bit of an unusual setup on the steelwork, ridge beams and twin ridge beam setup of sorts, cantilevered across a reinforced truss... Steel erectors nightmare connections...
Folded channel section to reinforce lower choord of girder truss, then a PFC to reinforce other direction...and folded brackets to take ends of joists in one section.
Slowly moving on....First Velux in today, only 5 more to go
Loft conversion

Re: Loft conversion
Moved this on a fair bit now...
All timberwork in, floor insulation, windows... Cellotex going in...nightmare job, back had to rebated to accomodate the old trusses, notched around new ties and uprights.
Tidy job on the boarding.... Insulated board, so had to bevel cut at top and bottom to maintain the insulation.
Plaster had a challenge, but did a nice job.
