Hi to all the pro's out there if your tiles are solid on the wll and no give and can you put hardi backer over the top of the old tiles and then re-tile ,
Also what weight in kg does hardi backer hold and if this was ok to do what would you use to adhere the hardi backer to the tiles , i'm only asking because some asked if this can be done im not sure so asking you pro's

I'm just finishing a job where the client was quoted for over tiling, I refused to and suggested we knock the tiles off and see what we had to work with, thankfully she took my advice as one wall of tiles, adhesive, skin and bonding plaster was completely detached from the brick work. Over tiling would have pulled it down (in my opinion).
