Protecting Photos

Post by Benny120 »

I have printed off some large photo's on my A3 printer and wish to frame them, but the ink used in household printers is not UV stable and so the ink will fade over time.

If I replace the glass with perspex will it prevent the ink from fading?

Cheers

You can buy picture frames with glass that has been coated to protect pictures (altho' not 100%). Just type into Googel Picture fames +UV

Normal perspex is no good as it does not contain a UV blocker, but you can get Perspex VA grade.

This does contain a UV blocker and is used by many museums to protect valuable items that could be damaged by UV light, or you could try the glass like skiking suggests
