Metal ceiling light fitting

Post by Denise »

The new ceiling light fitting is metal and it has an earth wire attached to the casing which reads "must be earthed" Where does this wire go?
Thanks

The wire normally goes into a connector strip and then that is wired to the earth wire in the lighting circuit, like on this page-

If your house wiring is old, there may not be an earth wire on the lighting circuit. If this is the case then you cannot fit the new light!

If you have any questions please post back.
