Brake disc's and pads

Post by curtains »

I'm looking to buy brake disc and pads but is it best to get pagid or Toyota. ECP wants £86.96 and a Toyota dealer on ebay wants 85.18.

My Honda CRV rear brake recently made sqeeking noise (I now know the pads have only acoustic wear indication) I searched alternative pads as the original always seemed too soft, bought Pagid from Euro Car Parts and though the web gave too many numbers the guy at the counter found another and they were spot on and feel better even though they are only on the rear, even my Son commented on the drive to drop me off at the airport, that they seemed to bite sharper; will replace the fronts with same soon; brembo also available and a cheaper own brand. If the car was in warranty then non OEM might be an issue.

Can't see it making much of a difference either way. Both sets will (certainly should) be good enough to pass the MOT brake test but unless you're a driver that can 'feel' and/or use the difference in braking quality it has to be down to price/longevity.
Don't take it personally......

I have fitted pagid on all my vehicles for years. Never had an issue with them.

I think my van must have those, it's been squeaking a bit for the last few days when I use the brakes. I'll take a look in my handbook later and see what it says.
One day it will all be firewood.

Pagid supply pads/discs to Toyota (and others) They'll be exactly the same.

The picture on ebay is showing Toyota Textar on the pads.

Yep, and Textar and Pagid are owned by the same company.
As I said above they'll be exactly the same.

I like Mintex pads and discs the pads are just the right type of compound not so hard they eat the discs or to soft they dust up badly
