Tiling on damaged plasterboard
Hi, I intended to tile on plastetboard in the bathroom. I've had to remove some awful plastic cladding which had been put on with glue. Even being really careful ripping this off is damaging the plasterboard (see pictures). Just some advice really: do I go ahead and tile over the damage, replace the plasterboard or plaster over it before tiling? I'm replacing the plasterboard around the bath and wet areas with aquaboard anyway but this is on a 'dry' wall.

Re: Tiling on damaged plasterboard
If it is a wet area then it is best to replace the plasterboard with a cement based board like Aquapanel. If it is a relatively dry area then fit some new plasterboard it is an easy enough job. \start with a good substrate for the new tiles.

Looks to be just the paper that's damaged. a coat of Zinsser drywall pro 2-in-1 will sort that.burro wrote:Yep it's a dry area so new plasterboard. Thought that might be the case. Thanks DWD

I could not see the picture so well on my phone when I posted this. On balance you could tile over on this but it is probably to late now?
