tiling bathroom?

Post by leannejkl »

i have never tiled in my life and my bathroom needs something done!

what i was thinking of is smashing out the old tiles then getting some hard as nails glue and gluing mirror tiles to the wall so the side my bath is on would be all mirrored would this work with the hard as nails? if not does anyone know where i can learn about step by step tiling for dummies?

The tiling section is a good place to start.

You can tile ontop of tiles using regular tile adhesive, make sure it is waterproof for in a bathroom.

I don't think standard adhesive would work on 'glass' mirrors?

The problem is you'll be sticking the mirror back to the wall, I would have thought a glass/porcelain adhesive would work, the biggest problem will be sealing the gaps to ensure water doesn't enter and attack the mirror backing.

If you do use mirror, use a bevel edged then you'll be able to grout above the mirror edge and get a good seal with a waterproof grout.
