Unable to access email account
Good afternoon/evening,Brexiters and Remainers,during this time of cold(civil)war :)
All of a sudden I get a message up in red "Network connection timed out. Please try again",but it doesn`t let me try again.I went into history and tried several times via there....and via usual search facility.Never seen this message before, coupled with not being able to sign in to my email account.
"Yahoo

Any ideas please?
Thanks

Dont worry about it too much, seems I am in the same boat as you. I too have a @btinternet.com email address

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

Re: Unable to access email account
Bt stopped using yahoo years ago - log in via the bt homepage - bt email servers have had some issues the last week or so, mainly at peak times, there dns servers have also been iffy (mine are manually set to googles 4.4.8.8 and 8.8.8.8)
if your using a email program make sure the pop3 and smtp are set to mail.btinternet.com

Re: Unable to access email account
I learned a good few years ago not to tie your email address in with an ISP. I had a blueyonder account but lost it when I moved provider. I think it was with Tiscali but not sure.
Anyway I have a protonmail account for my secure stuff. It costs me about £4 pm and a gmail one for all the tat.

Re: Unable to access email account
sorted!
Its been giving problems on and off for ? (not really looked too much until the other day)
yes I can see all my BT emails if i got to bt.com and log in.
BUT I want them on my laptop and phone..............checked with BT, no problems listed / mentioned so i deleted the account info on LT and phone, and set up again as IMAP not pop3 (like it was) lots of emails just came down

Re: Unable to access email account
One thing I have noticed about BT email, I am not a user, is when I send invoices with attachments to a customer with a BT account the BT server always rejects them.
Had it with Talk Talk once or twice as well, but always with BT.

Re: Unable to access email account
Just checked again (no email) when I clicked "get messages" there is usually a message at the bottom of the screen that changes from something like "connecting, sending password, checking server, getting messages" I just tried it and it went (the text i just typed) so fast I could not read it.
So it seems changing it to imap solved the problem
