Anyone on here ever laid this?
Reason I ask is that is it for the average diy(er) or pros only, does the garden have to be absolutely spot on level etc etc.
Thought we had agreed on putting a decking in the garden then son says “why don’t you put artificial grass down instead” now Wife has seen in the one of the local diy places for £27m2 (we have a space of 60m2) and thinks this might be what she wants now, so any tips/links or pics of work would be much appreciated

Are you really sure you want to do that? have gravel instead (we have)

Under no circumstances should you have A.G. if you have pets, when they w** it sits on the A.G. and then starts to smell.

You don't cut it, but you do have to clean it on a regular basis (you use a vacuum cleaner on it) daft that it sounds but where do you suppose all the airborne fluff and general dirt goes to? it sits on the A.G. as it has no where to go.

It takes a lot of prep work to get it right and even more to maintain it

Its going to cost £1620 just in A.G. are you really sure you want to do this?

We thought about it, decided it was too much £ and too much effort so settled for 6 tonnes of 20mm gravel, it can rain as much as it likes, no problem, pulling out the odd weed (the seeds hide, then germinate) is no problem, and it costs less

Top soil and real grass (either from seed or by turf) isn't anywhere near as expensive. Yeah, you have to mow it weekly in the summer but nothing beats sitting/playing/scr*wing on real grass.

Thought I would add...........

Went to a customer today who has a small patch of A.G. They said it looks nice and in a confined space it doesn't get too dirty, but also that in this heat, you (and the kids) must wear shoes to go on the A.G. the reason is as its "plastic" it heats up and is hot to the touch, unlike real grass which is cool.

I laid some a little while ago but perhaps not in the way you are thinking. Customer had brought an end of a roll and wanted it laid on top of the patio , which was what I did. He provided some kind of double sided tape to hold it down which he said was he was told up to the job. I had my doubts but it seems to have survived the cold weather and now the hot weather. One tip I would say is to make sure you have enough so that it can be laid all the same way. I didn't realise but it appears to have a knap if that's the right word. There was only enough to do the job by using the offcut to fill in a gap at the side which meant it as being laid at 90degrees to the main piece. I thought it looked visibly odd but the customer was happy.
