A cell box switch, is used on access control applications. ie, at an appartment complex, the motorised gate has a small box inside. A gms based switch. You phone a dedicated number from your phone, and the switch picks up the call, per say, and actuates motor to open the gate.
So, i started thinking. I want to use said switch in my car. To phone it, to let it disarm the alarm, or open trunk, or even to cut out the engine after a theft or whatever i needed it for. I decided on 2 things. As my switch can be programmed to perform numerous actions, i decided on alarm and anti theft. 2 numbers to call from any phone, that does what its applied for.
The alarm part was easy. Seeing it never had one, i didnt have much wiring to do to let the horn whail when the car gets broken into. With the alarm, i installed central locking solonoids. So, i phone dedicated number, only known to me and set to recognise only my number, alarm arms and doors lock.
Engine cut out was a bit harder. It had to be wired to the starter motor and coil. If the car gets stolen, a number is dialed and it actuates a switch that breaks the circuit to coil and starter and kills the engine.
So far, it has been workinh like a charm for me. I can go to the mall and when i get to the car, i call the box and door unlocks.
No chance of code hopping ever. Reception over miles away and effertless to maintain.
